Recipe: Frozen Oatmeal Pops

Today was Foodie Friday number 25! Over the last few weeks, in my spare time, I find myself constantly watching videos on the YouTube channel: Good Mythical Morning. Rhett and Link, are a comedic duo that often find themselves doing crazy experiments, playing creative games, and eating insane foods. In one of their older videos, they question “Will It Popsicle?“, and oatmeal turned out to be successful.

Intrigued, I decided to make my own twist on The Oatmeal Popsicle. As always, you could take your own creative liberties with this recipe. For example, you could try making it with milk (boiled for safety of course), dip the final product in melted chocolate, or simply reheat for a quick hot oatmeal snack!

Recipe: Cereal Cookies

Today was Foodie Friday number 24! For once we actually have a decently stocked fridge, so choosing what to make today was more difficult than I had anticipated. In the end, I discovered that we had a ton of cereal in the pantry, and there had to be something interesting I could do with it. Then I found the recipe that inspired today’s creation.

These Cereal Cookies are crunchy, sweet, and a tasty way to use up the any cereal left in the box that just isn’t quite enough to make into breakfast. You can choose any flavour or type of dry cereal you please, so experiment with different exciting flavour combos!

Recipe: Chewy Double Chocolate Cookies

Today was Foodie Friday number 23! The day began slowly, with rain clouds hoovering over the house, and my blankets claiming them as one of their own. Nonetheless, I eventually got out of bed and decided to make cookies. What better way to enjoy a lazy day than with a comfort food like cookies?

These Chewy Double Chocolate Cookies are thick and fudgy, making them a delicious way to indulge that chocolate craving. We all crave the foods and sweets we love once and a while, and sometimes we just have to give in. Life’s too short to eat food we don’t enjoy eating. I used chopped milk chocolate for my cookies, however, any kind of chocolate chunk or chip would be fair game.

Recipe: Easy Peasy Pizza Rolls

Today was Foodie Friday number 22! With Easter weekend approaching, I thought it would make sense to clear out the fridge before we had loads of leftovers from Easter dinner. What better way to use up some tomato sauce than pizza? Or in this case pizza rolls?

This recipe for Easy Peasy Pizza Rolls, is just as the title suggests. Its quick, simple, and delicious. These rolls are also very customizable, as you may use as much of any tomato sauce you please, (within reason of course) and same goes for the cheese!

Recipe: Asiago Garlic Carrots

Today was Foodie Friday number 21! While trying to choose which recipe to make this week, I rummaged through my fridge to discover we had carrots. The problem was that there wasn’t enough carrots to make muffins or cake with. That left making them into a side dish for dinner my only option. I personally much prefer roasted carrots to raw. The flavour and texture is so much more enjoyable to me.

These Asiago Garlic Carrots are no exception to that personal preference. The subtle garlic flavour mixes wonderfully with the soft, yet crisp carrots. Then, all of that is deliciously topped with asiago cheese.

Recipe: Banana Bread

Today was Foodie Friday number 20! I am currently out of town, staying with my Grandparents for the weekend. My Grandfather’s birthday is today so I made this recipe ahead of time so I wouldn’t miss yet another Friday this month. 

This Banana Bread recipe is a family favourite, and has almost become a staple. With or without chocolate chips, toasted or fresh, it makes a fantastic treat for breakfast or any other time of day. The more ripe the banana, the more rich the flavour.

Recipe: Cranberry Chocolate Muffins

Today was Foodie Friday number 19! After spending the whole of yesterday working on a project, today’s snowy weather was the perfect excuse to stay in and warm up the house with the oven. If you haven’t already noticed, I love muffins. The lack of them in my house inspired yet another recipe.

What goes well with cranberries? Oranges. What goes well with both? Chocolate. Enough said. These Cranberry Chocolate Muffins are a simple and fantastic combination of all three. The streusel topping is optional, but who can resist it?
