Today was Foodie Friday number 8, and it was nuts… almost literally. My mother and I are taking part in a community bake and craft sale tomorrow afternoon, so that meant that today we spent all day baking. One of our products for tomorrow also happens to be one of my favourite recipes of all time. Harvest Loaf is a seasonal tradition in my household. Every year, we carve a pumpkin for Halloween, and then roast it the next day to puree for this recipe specifically. All year, I wait for the day that we bake this loaf.
Harvest Loaf is a wonderful fall favourite. The subtle combination of pumpkin and chocolate, with the addition of delicate spices, make it a warm, comforting snack. This loaf may also be enjoyed toasted, or with the addition of chopped nuts or shredded coconut.
